Happy Mother’s Day

I’m thankful that God has given me 3 mothers in my life right now. I know that not everyone has that blessing, and what a blessing it is. It’s impossible to thank someone for loving you because it’s an endless gift of life, especially when it’s someone like a mom.

To my mom, who continues to shop for the best deals on clothing for me even though I’m a grown man, I thank her for always bearing gifts of thoughtfulness. Besides clothes, I’m never in need of Chinese food, sound advice, and a better example of hard work and dedication. I admire her for teaching Chinese to our community all these years and going back to school to become a better teacher.

To my mother-in-law, Jenni describes her as “super mom” and it becomes more fitting as I know her more. Her tender spirit coupled with an amazing and always-decaffeinated energy is God’s love barely contained in a mother’s human shell. Her patience and kindness has been a source of strength. I hope to become as much fun as she is every day.

And to my wife, mother of our two kids, I’ve always known that I’d marry someone who would be a great mom. It was one of those non-negotiable traits that I sought after. Maybe, it was because I know that I have a weakness in the area of parenting, or that I only want the best for our kids, but I never doubt that Jennilyn gives more love each day to our growing family. People say again and again that Kadie is so sweet—well, that’s because her mother is a sweetest girl I know.
