Happy 2nd Birthday Kadie!

Two years, too fast! I often heard from parents that their best advice was to enjoy their children now because they grow up so fast. Jenni also has a saying, “the days go by slow, but the years go by fast.” Here I am looking at my two-year-old daughter and thinking, wow, you did grow up fast!

We took Kadie to the children playground at Portland’s Washington Park and invited some of her friends to come play. Though the play structure was quite amazing, Kadie only saw the thing she loves, swings. The play structure had lots of activities with fun bridges connecting the various components.

The weather only sprinkled a few times and we were sheltered in the Rosy’s Elephant House, home of the first elephant in the Oregon Zoo. There were bathrooms conveniently nearby and picnic benches for the food. I was impressed there were power outlets too.

The next day, we had family and friends come over for supper and enjoy the birthday girl. Jenni’s mom made a great Mickey Mouse cake lined with M&M candies.

Kadie received pretty cool loot too. A toy stove and burner with sounds, lights, and toy food, a wooden rocking chair, toy laptop, little people Noah’s Ark, and lots of clothes.

And here’s a treat for everyone. While I’m completely biased, watching Kadie grow up has many laugh-out-loud moments that I’m ever so thankful that Jenni captures them and creates wonderful video montages. Get your favorite drink and snack, the video is almost 35 minutes long, but I’m sure you’ll enjoy it.
