Lovegood continued with new programming showcasing their first premiere mainstage. How this allowed for wider reach of performers to participate. I was happy to see some returning talent to blend into the community.
The Secret Garden Musical was a much more somber and slow story, but I’ve found the music to offer variety to Lovegood’s traditional upbeat and comedy. I appreciate expanding my repertoire of plays to different genres.
What I enjoyed most in this play was the music. Several of the main leads have amazing voices and having them harmonize in several songs was magical, almost haunting.

- How Could I Ever Know
I also found the use of color and scrims to be an inventive way to separate the past or spirit events with the present time. I heard the director say they were going for an impressionist painting look, which I’m unfamiliar with, but it provided striking visuals.
