When we looked at our finances for travel, the current prices of hotel stays were high enough that we could get a quality tent and use it for camping.
So that’s what we did. We purchased the Wirecutter tent recommendation for car camping and picked the Oregon Dunes to explore. Jenni had fond memories of running down the dunes in her childhood and wanted to share the scenery with me.
The day was mostly overcast and foggy, so we didn’t get the rich colors and contrast of the sand dunes. But the clouds burned off by sunset to give us a glimpse.
Jenni didn’t remember the exact spot of her childhood, so we explored a majority of the region and climbed several dunes in a relaxed and serendipitous manner.
