I never paid much attention to the Olympics before but Jennilyn’s excitement got me watching the opening ceremonies. As I thought about it, being in Beijing and hosted by China, the opening ceremonies would be a fantastic party. So I was somewhat excited to see what China had prepared to start off the Olympic games. What a show they pulled off!
Bokeh
Welcome to our new redesign! I had been looking to update our site for over a year but other things in life took priority. After settling in to our new home and doing long stretches of web development at work, I couldn’t stop thinking about web coding. Thankfully, Jenni understood my web itch and allowed me to be a code monkey in the evenings, weekends, and early mornings. Hey, when there’s a baby in the house, everything takes twice as long.
Jenni and Friends
As part of Jennilyn’s birthday party, we took pictures of her and her friends to commemorate the day and also get a little goofy. Thanks to all her friends for being patient while I got my gear set up properly.
The Joker’s Wild
Ever since watching Batman Begins, I’ve been eagerly awaiting its sequel because it was a movie so good, I didn’t want it to end. Now, matched against Batman’s most famous nemesis, the Joker, it’s a battle royale for Gotham. And Joker definitely got a smile on my face for his performance. Why so serious? Because this is one seriously dark movie.
Happy Birthday Jenni!
For Jenni’s birthday, I asked all the friends invited to our party to share a favorite memory they had of Jennilyn, and I put together a little slideshow as a conversation piece for the party.
Cory and Arianne
I first met Jenni’s brother Cory after he came back from swimming. It was my first time at Jenni’s parents’ Battle Ground home and I was waiting in the living room for Jennilyn when Cory came through the front door. He offered me a friendly introduction before heading off to clean up. Before Jenni and I headed off to the backyard, he came back out shirtless and I took notice how muscular he was. “Better not mess with Jennilyn,” I thought to myself.
Green Beans
We let Kadie try green beans, and like her momma, she played with her food.
Our Own Pleasantville
Color us blissfully broke, but we’ve moved into a house! Our realtor Ashley, pictured above, found this house on Craigslist as a for-sale-by-owner. The moment I stepped into the house, I had a gut feeling that Jenni would like it, and as we toured the house, the feeling only grew stronger.
Baby Brain
Sleep deprivation leads to interesting side effects. David and I have developed hearing problems. I’ve realized that it does no good getting mad at him for saying “Huh?” every time I say something to him. Now we just repeat what we thought we heard.
David: “Huh? You need to grebber garble gooka?”
Jenni: “No! I need to grab the diaper bag!”
(I just made that up because I can’t remember what we’ve actually said, but it’s a lot like that.) Needless to say, our processing skills are a bit shot, just as our eyes are blood-shot.
Kick It Like Kadie
Here is Kadie’s first experiences with soccer. Maybe I’ll explain that eating the ball is against the rules when she gets a little older. Not bad for a 7 month old, eh?!
