While the girls were away at their Aunt Rachel’s to help with summer camp, Bruce, Jenni, and I spent two nights at L.L. Stub Stewart State Park to try out camping again.
Jenni picked the timing to align with a new moon so that we could get dark skies for the Milky Way galaxy center. We’ve also have never seen this park during the day but several times in the middle of the night. It’s one of the best locations nearby to see the stars with relatively dark skies.
Jenni’s brother’s family joined us on the second day to bike on the Banks-Vernonia trail and hang out. We’re definitely out of practice and our noses were assaulted with allergies, but we enjoyed it overall and look forward to future camping excursions.
