September 2020

September 2020: Started out lovely, the middle was… challenging, and now we can breathe again! Well, still trying to “breathe” through this pandemic school situation. Learning to NOT try and do everything at my pre-pandemic/pre-toxic air capacity. Learning to be thankful – for each day is still a gift. Bring on the happy orange pumpkins and squash!!!

Putting Myself Out There

https://www.brickfanatics.com/brick-pic-of-the-day-wet-shoes/

As my LEGO hobby grew over the last few years, I’ve been frequenting websites for reviews, rumors, and ideas. After seeing other LEGO photographers’ work featured on one of those sites, Brick Fanatics, I decided to submit my favorite LEGO photograph to see what would happen.

I visited Brick Fanatics today to see the new LEGO 1989 Batwing, and as I scrolled down, I saw my photo as the Brick Pic of the Day.

That photo always makes me smile and I hope it sparks inspiration and joy to others.

If you want to see other photos I’ve done with LEGO, I have two previous posts and you can scroll down my Instagram feed.

Centering Myself

Something I look forward to every summer is the chance to see our galaxy center. It’s a humble reminder that I’m not the center of the universe and there is something bigger beyond.

Jack’s First Full Marathon

Sometimes, Jack and I are so similar, it makes sense that we’re brothers. Other times, we’re complete opposites, and it makes sense that we’re brothers.

I despise running. Specifically, long-distance running. I’ve been a decent sprinter but I have always languished for anything longer. It was only after training for a 5K that I ever ran a mile in under 10 minutes.

It doesn’t surprise me that Jack is the opposite. He has been training to do a full marathon for years now. I thought a half-marathon was his end goal, but it was actually training for a full marathon.

The weekend before his 40th birthday, he crossed a toilet paper finish line, since we’re in a pandemic.
