David married me back when I wasn’t sure I would be able to be much of a wife to him. I was bed-ridden quite a bit and David carried a pillow around for me everywhere we went, and, occasionally, carried me when I couldn’t walk. Thankfully, I am WAY better than six years ago, but I am still dealing with my chronic pain, insomnia, and recently rediscovered, parasite issues. I thought they were gone, but I guess not.

Seriously
Not taking life too seriously is a balance Jenni brings to our marriage. I tend to be all business and no play. I’ve learned to enjoy the journey and not focus solely on getting to a destination from Jenni.
We had a mini-date while my parents watched the kids and we struck a balance of getting some exercise walking around a mall and stopping by the Apple store so that I could check out the iPad 2 some more. While I’m fascinated by the Garage Band app, well, you call tell which app got Jenni’s imagination.
I Do Every Day
Massage Therapy
David has always been very healing to me. His frequent foot massages helps my head pain disappear for a while. I’m so blessed to have a husband who is so generous with his love to me.
Swingin’
Dancing was, is, and will always be one of the pillars of our marriage. We met through dancing, competed together, and served on the board of our dance community. Good times then and to come.
Walking for Wellness
Better Marriage Ice Cream
“Are you a vegetarian?” I chuckled when I heard that was one of my brother-in-law’s first date questions. However, when it came to food allergies and my dietary indifference, God worked out a great pairing for us. She enjoys Chinese food, must eat meat, and most of the things she’s allergic to, I don’t crave or enjoy.
One food that we’re both sensitive to is dairy. Thank God for coconut ice cream.
Young at Heart
Shooters
Photography is a hobby/side job that Jenni and I enjoy doing together. As a hobby, it helps us capture snapshots of our lives. The side job aspect is such a gift from God. To not only serve friends and clients and pay for a potentially expensive hobby, but to work as a team and enjoy each other’s artistry and creativity.
Special thanks to my cousin Eileen for shooting the picture.
Laundry and a Movie
Almost a weekly ritual in itself is doing laundry to a movie. Normally, Jenni washes and dries the clothes during the day, then after we put the kids to bed, we relax to a movie with two card tables and three or four baskets of laundry. Folding laundry takes a while longer if we’re watching a good movie.
