Happily Eighteen Years After

Something her’s, something mine, we celebrated our anniversary weekend by doing activities that we enjoy individually and together. As we cross eighteen years together, we have the mindset of growing in love towards each other so that we don’t drift apart.

Our Upgraded LEGO Nook

We’ve struggled to display our LEGO collection well because many solutions were as expensive as the toys themselves. I would rather spend the money on the bricks rather than furniture to showcase it.

But when Vernier offered a fire-sale of their office furniture, we took advantage of the huge discount to upgrade our LEGO nook.

Monterey Bay Aquarium

One of our favorite attractions in any city is an aquarium. We love admiring creatures that dwell in our vast oceans.

My personal favorite are the jellyfish. This was the first time I saw jellyfish that glow and glitter!

After Chris and Emily’s wedding, we added a stop to San Francisco to explore the Golden Gate Bridge, Chinatown, and Ghirardelli Square.

Chris and Emily’s Wedding

Just seventeen months after the first Chui cousin got married, Chris and Emily tied the knot on a beautiful February afternoon in California. We made the drive down to the San Francisco area to celebrate their union and I’m glad that our family love weddings.

My 44th Birthday Weekend

Four days of celebration for the forty-four trips I’ve taken around the sun. I’m grateful to have spent the time enjoying activities I love with people who love me all year long.

Rosie Remembered

Our second gerbil passed away Thursday morning at the vet. She crossed over the rainbow bridge to join her sister Pearl.

We knew that their lifespans were short, but it still didn’t diminish the hole they’d leave in our hearts and home after their passing. We loved them dearly and grateful for the time they shared with us.

Merry Christmas, Peanuts-Style!

One of our traditions around the holidays are to watch the Garfield and Charlie Brown holiday cartoons. All of the Garfields have fun stories and songs and the Charlie Browns are, well, good grief.

But at least the Peanuts gang inspired me to illustrate my family in Charles Schulz’s style for our Christmas card. For a simple and iconic style, finding the features that distinguishes each of us was a fun challenge.
